The long-awaited show is set to hit screens in one week's time - with the trailer dropping just hours after Princess Kate and Prince William arrived in the US.

The clip was also released shortly after the Prince and Princess of Wales released their own video from their visit to Boston.

Royal author Angela Levin told the Sun the date was chosen to "deliberately" impede Princess Kate and Prince William's trip to the US.

Angela said: ";I think that the day seems chosen to ruin Kate and Williams trip - to take away everything from that.

"To pile it on. There was no need to do it that day. It was done deliberately to spoil their visit.

"Meghan and Harry are really keen on privacy until they decide they want to release their pictures to make a point - without proof."

Angela continued: "The pictures they're showing now they would never show when they were newly married.

"I fear it's a real wish to crash the monarchy.

"The seed was planted when they did the Oprah Winfrey interview and it's now grown into a tree."

Harry and Meghan's documentary is said to be in six episodes.

Today's 59-second clip shows a series of photos, and videos, with snippets of Harry and Meghan talking.

At the start of the trailer, the pair are asked: "Why did you want to make this documentary?"

Harry says: "Nobody sees what's happening behind closed doors.

"I had to do everything I could to protect my family."

And, Meghan says: "When the stakes are this high doesn't it make more sense to hear our story from us?"

Unseen photos and videos of the couple dancing, playing guitar and taking selfies have also been shared in the trailer.

The show is said to give an insight into the pair's "love story" and will be streamed from December 8.

Piers Morgan slammed the reveal of the Netflix docuseries social media.

He tweeted: "Imagine bleating about privacy then doing a kiss-and-tell reality series about your private lives?

"Then imagine releasing 1st trailer deliberately to ruin your brother’s big trip to America? Repulsive hypocrites."
