He had been browsing a Somerset charity shop when he came across the book by Tiffany Reisz - an American author best known for her erotica novels.

It's not uncommon to come across personalised messages jotted on the inside cover of books, but this one shocked Ché.

The novel had once belonged to a woman named Jane, and seemed to be a gift from her lover Nickolas.

He said it was for her to read and enjoy at times when he was not around.

The message read: "Jane, This is for you to read when my xxxxxx and my xxxxxxxx xxxxx are not there for you. Love, Nickolas. X"

The Sun Online has chosen to take out some of the more graphic details.

Ché quickly took to social media to share his find, captioning the photo: "An interesting dedication in this racy novel I unearthed in Sue Ryder’s, Wells, Somerset."

The note prompted people online to question whether Jane and Nickolas' relationship lasted, and if it was as raunchy as it seemed to have once been.

Ché's post received more than 400 likes and comments from amused viewers.

One woman wrote: “I love it, it's hilarious and so corny. Gave me a proper giggle.

“Nickolas, you naughty boy.”

Another said: "Hey, wait. Does this mean Nickolas is single?”

One man commented: “Father Christmas is a horny bugger!”

The charity store today said: "Sue Ryder would like to thank whoever donated this book, along with the customer who purchased it for supporting our vital palliative, bereavement and neurological care.

"It would seem Jane and Nickolas had lots of fun together and we wish them all the best."

This isn't the first time an interesting handwritten note has been found in a second hand book.

An Australian mum and daughter once bought a children's book and found a heart-breaking, yet important message inside.
