I’m plus size – people judge me over my size 22 body but I bet I’m healthier than them, they just hate my confidence
TIKTOK star Nicole McCurry has praised plus-sized figures and reckons women shouldn’t be pressured into covering up.
The Scots dance school boss, 25, has faced cruel taunts from bullies who commented on her size 22 frame.
But the mum-to-be has never allowed herself to be torn down by nasty trolls.
The Glaswegian, who weighs 15 stone, doesn’t like that women with fuller figures feel pressured to hide their wobbly bits due to judgemental strangers.
She says: “l think a lot of people who are plus size feel like when they are dressing themselves they need to hide their body.
“They try so hard to find outfits that hide their curves and tummy's and that’s totally great if you’re doing that for you and that’s what makes you feel confident.
“But I also feel a lot of the reasons behind how they dress is because of the social standards of how they feel others will judge them and it puts them off wearing outfits they really love.
“I honestly believe no matter how you look or who you are, there’s always going to be people who will pick faults with different things.
“So no matter how hard you try change yourself or your appearance you’re never going to please everyone or fit into the beauty standards that we have in today’s world.
“Everyone’s expectations of beauty and what someone classes as beautiful or 'perfect' is different and the standard changes all the time.

“Trying to change yourself to fit in with the standard is just not realistic because there’s always going to be something someone thinks you can change so the only person we should be trying to please is ourselves as long as we feel good in an outfit.
“If we are confident, happy and comfortable within ourselves that’s all that matters.
“The health debate always seems to come up as well but ultimately it’s someone’s own decision to be as healthy as they want to be
“You have people who smoke and drink alcohol commenting on someone’s weight about how unhealthy it is and you also have people who eat sometimes worse than a plus size person that naturally stay slim but feel the need to comment just because someone 'looks' like they eat more or worse
“There’s health risks to loads of things people decide to do but because you can’t physically see the risk or the impact it’s not judged upon as much, so my message is basically just, live your own life in the best way you feel is best for you.”
And Nicole hopes that people like herself who embrace their image can inspire confidence in others.
She adds: “I also feel as soon as some people see someone who is bigger with confidence it’s frowned upon and they think because they’re confident they’re enabling being big.
“But in reality confidence and body image shouldn’t be the same thing and someone who is big just because they’re confident doesn’t mean they don’t try to lose weight.

“I always say at the moment this is the body we have, some people might want to change it some people might not.
“Regardless it’s the one we have at this time and we can’t be expected to hide under a rock. “
