I worked in Asda – here’s the most annoying customer habits, their attitude always leaves us speechless
A FORMER Asda worker has revealed the rudest customer habit that even left some colleagues in tears.
Darren Dowling, better known as social media star Dazza, knows the retail scene well having also worked for the likes of Poundland and Cineworld where he had many gripes.
But there were certain shopper habits unique to Asda that left staff fuming.
In particular, reducing the price of items was a painstaking task for the colleague unlucky enough to be given the sticker gun.
Darren says: "I think most people noticed just how rude certain members of the public can be when it came to us doing reductions.
"People would hang around waiting to be the very first to get their hands on reduced items.
"I've no problem with that as we all love a bargain and some people can't afford to buy as much and rely on discounts to feed their families.
"But sometimes you'd literally be in the middle of doing it and people would be bumping into you and reaching over you to grab the items before anyone else.
"They didn't care that they were knocking into me or think about waiting the few minutes until I was done.
"I remember colleagues would get upset sometimes because customers would shout at them if certain items weren't discounted enough,"

But Darren also admits there were some staff tricks that colleagues used to make their own lives easier.
He adds: "If somebody asked me to check if an item was in the back, I sometimes would.
"But most of the time I'd just go on my phone for a few minutes and come back out and say we didn't have it.
"Or if somewhere asked where an item was and I couldn't see any other colleagues to ask, I'd just send them to a random aisle so they'd leave me alone."
Darren previously lifted the lid on the customer habit that angers Poundland staff the most.
Given the name of the shop is Poundland, some visitors took it a little too literally and became very upset when something didn't cost £1.
He worked in the Paisley branch and remembers all too well the most dreaded exchange with a customer.
He said: "The most annoying thing was people asking 'why is this not a pound?'
"And the next most annoying thing was 'is this a pound?' when it obviously was.
"I'd just say that I was on minimum wage and they're asking the wrong person.

"People would put items down and walk out of the shop if they found out it wasn't £1.
"And folk would get raging that they'd come in and get four cans of energy juice for a pound one week and then just three cans the next."
