It can feel like a real chore, so any helpful hack to achieve the best results cheaply, quickly and easily can be a life saver.
Which is where professionals like cleaning whizz Mrs Hinch come in.

Dirty doors

Mrs Hinch recommends using a capful of your favourite fabric conditioner diluted in water.
Simply buff it in with a soft scourer sponge.
This will wipe away the marks but not the actual paint itself, and leave the room smelling like fresh washing.
That sinking feeling
The kitchen and bathroom sinks can harbour germs and bacteria, and also give off unwanted odours.
Mrs Hinch uses a cup full of soda crystals and a cup of white vinegar to combat this.
Pour them both down the plug hole and let them get to work for up to 30 minutes.
Then, pour boiling water down to wash it away.
To make it smell extra fresh, you can also pour a capful of Zoflora - one of Mrs Hinch's staple products - down the plug.
Clean your cloths
While cleaning our homes we actually forget sometimes one of the items we really need to pay attention to are the sponges themselves.
To clean them, simply get a capful of Zoflora which is a disinfectant and kills 99.9 per cent of bacteria, put in the (now sparkling clean) sink then add boiling water.
Add all your cleaning cloths in there overnight - this will leave the kitchen smelling beautiful and clean your cloths at the same time.
Mirror, mirror on the wall
A dirty mirror is often something that goes unnoticed, and cleaning it incorrectly can make the glass streaky.
Mrs Hinch recommends firstly using a tumble dryer sheet initially, to pick up any dust.
Then, spray with a glass cleaner or white vinegar, and then buff in with dry kitchen roll.
Finally, finish with a glass and window cloth.
She has also recommended in the past using Autoglym Fast Glass - a product ordinarily used for cars, and Elbow Grease for windows.

Grease be gone
An oldie but a goodie - Mrs Hinch was one of the first to champion The Pink Stuff - a 'miracle' cleaning paste that can be used to clean pretty much anything.
This is particularly effective on greasy surfaces, such as your cooker hob.
Apply a generous amount to the scourer side of a sponge and buff it in to lift grime and grease.
Dryer sheet secret
One item Mrs Hinch swears by for a multitude of chores is the humble tumble dryer sheet.
A fan of Lenor in particular, Mrs Hinch uses them to dust blinds, wipe mirrors, and to clean radiators.
You can also pop them in your clothes drawers to leave laundry smelling fresh, or your toilet paper roll to scent the bathroom.
Odour eliminator
For mattress stains, sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on the area using a sieve.
You can also rub it in while wearing gloves and it will eliminate any odours.
Then, leave for up to an hour, and simply hoover it off.
She also adds a couple of drops of lavender essential oils to the pillow before putting a fresh pillowcase on.
Rubbish solution
There's nothing worse than a foul smelling bin, especially in the kitchen where you cook your meals.
To combat and eliminate odours, Mrs Hinch has a top tip.

After cleaning the bin thoroughly with a disinfectant spray, Sophie douses a piece of kitchen roll in Zoflora.
