Mum-of-22 Sue Radford reveals top five FREE ways she entertains her bumper brood over half term

WITH 22 kids to entertain, school holidays can be exhausting and expensive for Sue and Noel Radford.

And as the family have already enjoyed multiple holidays this year - including a trip to Florida - they'll probably be staying close to home for the October half term.

But, over the years, Sue has come up with a variety of different, free, ways to keep her kids entertained.

"It’s a massive challenge in the school holidays to find things to keep the kids entertained," she said previously.

“We’ve got teenagers and we’ve got toddlers, so we have to try and find things that will please everyone, which is really hard work.

“We always do like them to try new experiences, things that they haven’t done before.

“We need to find things to do that will tire them out.”

First up, their motorhome.

The main reason Sue and Noel got their lavish motorhome was to be able to go away with their brood on weekends and school holidays.

They have taken it to various camping sites, with their kids spread out in beds throughout the campervan.

They also have an awning, so they can set up beds there for even more of their offspring.

The couple also said they plan to take the vehicle to France on a road trip when they have time.

"I can’t wait to use it and make lots of memories in it, it’s going to be absolutely amazing," Sue said when they bought the vehicle.

When they're not away in their motorhome, the Radfords can often be found enjoying their garden.

During lockdown, they built a bar in the garden, and they have since had a £600 pizza oven and a £27,000 hot tub 'swimming pool' installed.

Sue frequently shares videos and pictures of her kids splashing around in the water, and they've also been taking swimming lessons to make them more confident in the pool.

Like lots of families, the Radfords do their utmost to make the most of their local area.

And as they live in Morecambe, they are just a stone's throw from the Lake District.

One of their favourite places to go is Bowness-on-Windemere, where there's a stony beach area they can explore the famous lake from.

To save on paying for lunch, they also take a picnic with them, as they documented in a vlog

Another outdoor activity the family enjoyed during a previous school holiday was hosting their own "Radford Olympics" at the beach.

Along with a classic sack race and a three-legged race, there was also an egg and spoon race.

"Our kids absolutely love games, they are very competitive, I wonder where they get that from, Noel?" Sue laughed.

“Noel is the competitive one in the family.”

Sue also often sets up craft activities for her kids.

And given that Halloween is happening during half term, decorating pumpkin cookies, pumpkin carving and painting are all fun activities they can do as a family.
