AIR fryers have become a must-have kitchen essential for many due to their cost, speed and health benefits.
But can you cook sausages in the air fryer? Whether you're making a sausage sandwich or bangers and mash - here's how to cook them using an air fryer.
How does an air fryer work?
Air fryers are a quick alternative to a traditional kitchen oven.
They tend to be used to cook foods that would usually be fried.
These popular kitchen appliances circulated superheated air around the food you place in the tray - creating a crunchy and crispy exterior.
And they use less oil - which mean's as well being a quicker cooking alternative, an air fryer is also a healthier one.
Instead of taking your favourite fried foods and submerging them in oil, air-frying requires just one tablespoon - and you get the same fried taste and texture you're hoping for.

Preheat the air fryer
The first step is to preheat the air fryer to 180°C/350°F.
After five minutes move on to the next step.
Pierce and place the sausages in the air fryer
Before placing the sausages in the air fryer, a good tip is to take a sharp knife and pierce them a few times all over.
This is optional - however, it does release more fat by doing so.
Once you've pierced the sausages, the next step is to spray the base of the air fryer with a couple of squirts of spray oil - this will prevent sausages from sticking.
Then simply arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket - leave space between each sausage to allow them to cook evenly.
Turn them over
After five minutes of cooking, open the tray and check on the sausages.
Using a pair of cooking tongs, turn each sausage over - this will allow the sausages to brown all over.
It's time to take them out
After ten minutes, check on the sausages once more.
If they are brown all over, you can take them out - however, if they require more time, leave them in for just a couple more minutes.
Once cooked through - you can take them out the air fryer.
