The cleaning expert advised her followers to clean their vacuum filters regularly to avoid suction problems.

"First step, unlock the canister," Babs instructed viewers.

She continued: "Step two, clean your filters. You have three. We’ve got the felt filter, the spongy filter, and then the HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter."

Babs recommended avoiding soap when it comes to washing your vacuum filters.

Demonstrating how to clean the appliance parts, she said: "Keep rinsing under cold water until the water runs clear."

"Wash every three months. HEPA, replace once a year. Allow to dry overnight," Babs concluded.

The cleaning pro also advised her followers to use a box cutter to remove any trapped hair or string from their cleaning appliance.

She also recommended using essential oils and a cotton ball in your vacuum to make your home smell nice.

Babs suggested that pet owners sprinkle a small amount of cinnamon on their carpet and vacuum it up to get rid of any lingering odors.
