I’m an influencer at 24, everyone thinks my job’s easy but it’s not, I don’t finish my work day until 5.19pm
A 24-year-old who is a full-time influencer has insisted that her job isn't as easy as it looks.
Mikayla Nogueira, who is from Boston, is one of the most popular makeup content creators on TikTok and has gained over 13.5million followers thanks to her helpful beauty tips.
But in a now-deleted video that was originally posted on Instagram, she insisted that being an influencer "isn’t easy" and that it's not a job that many can do.
She also complained that she doesn't finish her work day until 5.19 pm.
“A very small handful of people who can actually do this job… You do not want to have this job," she said, according to
“I literally just finished work and it's 5:19[pm].
“Try being an influencer for a day. Try it. Because the people who say it's easy are so far out of their minds. Try it for a day.
She continued: “Five to six hours filming video content that ranges from three to four videos and then I spend a few hours editing that video content'.

“Then I have to work on my other social media profiles, whatever it may be. It's f**king marketing. Then I'm in meetings from 12 pm to 5 pm.
“[Being an influencer] is not for everybody. In fact, it's for a very small handful of people who can actually do this job… You do not want to have this job, just saying.”

Mikayla's video has since received backlash from social media users who have slammed her 'tone-deaf' remarks.
'I'd love to try being an influencer for a day, Mikayla,' wrote one. 'Because while you're sitting in your $1 million house, lying to people about makeup, I work two jobs from 5am to 9pm just so I can afford rent and groceries.
While you make what I make in a year in a week."
Meanwhile, model Wisdom Kaye commented: "Any influencer who tells you their job is hard is either lying or just straight-up lazy"
He went on to insist that influencing was "easy as s**t", adding: "You get to wake up whenever you want, you get to work for as long as you want, you can clock in and clock out as you please, you have no boss, no co-workers, you have unlimited vacation days.
"You decide how long your shift is, you get to decide everything about your job - you are literally your own boss.
"Anyone who says this job is hard probably lacks real self-awareness."
