ALTHOUGH your bedroom may be one of the more hidden rooms in your home, it's worth sprucing up more than you think.
One interior design pro claimed there are 10 design sins you're most likely committing and explained how you should fix them to make your space look expensive.
YouTube's Arvin Olano is known as a design guru by his subscribers.
Whether it's styling shelves or finding affordable decor that looks luxurious, Arvin's capable of it all.
In a recent , he covers 10 design sins that make your bedroom look cheap and what to do instead.
"Nobody asked, but in today's video, I'm sharing 10 things you should stop doing to your bedroom," he says.
One TikTok quarantine trend is the first mistake you can make.
While it may have been a good way to pass the time in lockdown, Arvin doesn't think accent walls look as good as you think.
"So I don't know who gave you this idea, but you were tricked into thinking you need a pop of color on your walls," he explains.
"There is nothing worse than an accent wall in the bedroom where it feels super disjointed."

Arvin says it's okay to want a pop of color in your room, but you shouldn't just stop after just one wall.
You can add accessories and fabrics that are different shades of that color.
However, you should never use the color red in your bedroom.
"Unless you want your bedroom to look like a brothel, red is not going to be the color to put in your bedroom," he believes.
"You're sending the wrong message."
Next to go is tufting.
"When you get everything tufted, it can look really outdated really quick," he admits.
This includes tufted furniture, sheets, blankets, and chairs.
Switch your tufted headboard to a classic, timeless one instead.
"Stop buying bedroom furniture sets," he continues.
Mixing and matching pieces will fit your personality and style better.
Don't match your room perfectly to a catalog picture, and don't buy a headboard that is way too high.
"This is an eyesore," Arvin says.
"The next thing you should stop doing to your bedroom is introducing too many patterns."
If you love patterns, it's essential you mix patterns precisely.
Arvin urges you to pick a big print first.
Then, pick a few smaller ones with the same colors.
It's also easy to clutter your bed with pillows, but Arvin says you should not do this.
"Make sure your pillows are descending in size," he explains.
Your bed should always have volume; it should never be flat.
"Nothing says cheap bedroom like a flatbed. You want to add these voluminous textiles through your duvet, or comforter," he urges viewers.
Additional seating helps to "elevate the experience."
Lastly, floating nightstands need to go.
"These remind me of a really sketch hotel where they cut corners. Instead of getting a piece of furniture, they got a piece of plywood... It's going to look like you went the budget way," he admits.
Classic nightstands are way more practical for design.
