My neighbour can’t afford electricity so runs an extension cord from his apartment to the plug in the building hallway
THE cost of living crisis has seen everyone trying to find different ways to save money.
But one man took things a bit too far when he tried to cut back on his electricity bill by siphoning off of his building's communal electricity.
A woman took to Reddit to share a picture of her neighbour's set up, writing: "Brilliant or trashy?
"Neighbour can't pay electricity so he runs an extension cord from the building hallway to a power strip in his apartment."
People were quick to weigh in on the situation, with one person writing: "Brilliant until the landlord finds out and evicts him."
"It’s all fun and games until he tries to power his entire apartment off that one extension cord and sets a fire to the whole building," another added.

"This does happen and will happen," a third wrote.
While someone else commented: "You're the first person I've seen mention the insane fire hazard this is.
"In terms of risk, extension cords are easily in the top 5 greatest risks of fire in your house. And that's when you're using them properly.
"Considering this guy definitely has them daisy chained...Jesus f**k."
