I lived in a van for four years then gave it up, I got sick of having no loo or shower, people don’t know how hard it is
LIVING in a van may seem like a dream for some.
Travelling to new locations every day, meeting new people, and taking each day as an adventure does sound tempting.
But one former van lifer revealed it is not as easy and carefree as it looks.
, from the US, lived full-time in a van for four years traveling around the US and Canada.
She became so fed up with the lifestyle that she eventually moved into a house in 2020.
She revealed to the main reasons she gave up van life.

Kaya revealed that her van didn't have a shower or toilet - meaning she was constantly having to find venues with them.
After spending the day rock climbing, sweaty and exhausted, she'd head to a nearby leisure centre to get washed - only to realise it was closed.
On top of finding facilities to wash and go to the bathroom, Kaya had to be on the hunt for wifi, laundry machines, and a safe place to sleep.
She added: "After four years, those minor inconveniences piled up and became too exhausting to handle."

Kaya revealed she'd been kicked out of overnight parking spaces and had more breakdowns than she can count.
The practical elements wore Kaya down - but she also found it difficult to make long-lasting friends being on the move all the time.
She revealed that van life is spent mostly on your own or introducing yourself to new people.
"Days or weeks after introducing myself, I'd say goodbye, drive to a new town, and do it all over again. The cycle was draining.," Laya explained.
For now, Kaya said she wants to be part of a community and stay in one place.

But she often spends her summer months travelling in the van - just not full-time.
kaya explained: "One day, I might give full-time van life another try. For now, I'm sticking to shorter trips."
