THE HEATWAVE may make you think it's a good idea to start tackling some home improvements.
But a DIY expert has revealed three jobs you should steer clear of to avoid a disaster with your interiors.
Experts from revealed that not all DIY jobs are cut out to withstand the summer heat.
Speaking to the , Lizzie Beesley from Magnet Trade said building furniture should be avoided.
Wood can expand during the heat, so avoid building furniture or wooden flooring as it may cause it to buckle.
She said: "This will prevent the safety hazard of unstable chairs and prevent you from having to re-build them all over again.’’

And if you were thinking of adding a fresh lick of paint, think again.
The hot either can cause paint to dry too quickly, leaving it looking patchy once it has dried.
Lizzie said: "The temperature of your house (and walls) can massively affect the result of a paint job and you should always avoid painting in hot conditions.
"Warmer weather in summer (and especially a heatwave) can dry paint too quickly, which may seem like a quick way to get the job done but in reality it will cause patchy results, an uneven finish and speckled bumps that are hard to fix.”

In fact temperatures higher than 30 degrees can cause paint to bubble which can result in it peeling for an uneven finish and can be hard to redo.
Lastly, the expert reveals that wallpapering should also be left for the cooler months as the adhesive can dry too quickly.
This can cause the edges of the wallpaper to curl or cause bubbles.
For best results, the adhesive needs to dry as slowly as possible to ensure the paper doesn't expand or contract.
The expert recommended sticking to garden DIY jobs during the summer.

She adds: “From planting and weeding, to cleaning the patio and sanding furniture, it’s a great opportunity to get outside and give your garden some love.’’
For larger garden projects it's best to do them during the morning or evening when the temperature has dropped.
