Bridezilla slams ‘stingy’ dad for ‘only’ contributing $7.5k to wedding fund – despite giving NOTHING herself

THE bride's privilege of asking for whatever she wants anytime before her big day is her invoking her "bride card."

But where do you draw the line on what you ask for?

Oftentimes there's an unspoken agreement between a bride, her fiancée, her family, and friends that they're going to do whatever they can to help make the big day special.

Whether it's keeping her fiancée's naggy mother away from her or making sure that she has her extra lipgloss, usually they're willing to help.

Yet when it comes to the financial details and monetary obligation of the parents, one bride argues she didn't get what she wanted.

Reddit user Noshteroth posted a two-page from a bride that's furious at her father for not giving her more money for her wedding.

Noshteroth captioned the post: "Bride is furious and wants to punish her father for "only" giving her $7500 for her wedding."

The bride explains her frustration at her father for his lack of financial support because "he's a stingy multimillionaire."

Her original plans included a set budget of $30000 and 175 guests.

She says that her father's argument for only putting in the amount of money he did is due to him believing that each parent should be responsible for a quarter of the wedding expenses.

But the bride goes on to describe the inability of her mother to pay anymore than she already does because of her own financial situation.

"My mom is a public servant who took an entry-level job following their divorce," she says.

Also, she adds that her fiancée's parents are "in solidly middle-class jobs."

Her refusal to spend more of her and her fiancée's own money is because they're trying to save it for a house.

Punishing her father leads to the bride dramatically wanting to cancel the whole wedding.

She suggests disinviting people and canceling to elope.

However, the bride continues to offer ideas that include having the wedding without any "father-daughter things."

"I am really angry with my dad for his inflexibility and stinginess," she writes.

Readers didn't sympathize with her, only criticized her for her lack of financial planning ahead of time.

"Wow… The biggest mistake was planning the wedding when finances weren’t confirmed and then sending out invitations," one person commented.

Others included: "I never understand the whole “we want a big wedding but can’t pay for it ourselves because we’re saving for a house” mentality," and "A lot of these types tend to think their parents have a hell of a lot more money than they actually do."

"This is the moment when an adult decision should've been made, we had the money for a wedding or a house," another person added.

Ultimately, the bride says she decided to keep the wedding as planned, which begs the question: how is she planning on getting the rest of the money?
