I’m a makeup artist – 3 eyebrow mistakes which are aging you, it’s not just tweezer technique
THERE’S no denying the fact that eyebrows can change the entire appearance of your face.
If you know how to style your eyebrows correctly, you can avoid looking older than you are.
You might think keeping your eyebrows as clean and tidy as possible is the best beauty move to make – but you might not be correct about that.
Makeup artist Celine Russell revealed a few important eyebrow secrets with .
She explains: “The biggest giveaway of aging [with] brows is thinness.
“We lose brows over time as we age, and thinning brows can also be an indicator of underlying health problems.”
Overplucking your brows
The first eyebrow mistake Celine says to avoid is plucking them way too thin.
Unless you’re going for a full-throttle 90s look, super thin eyebrows are to be totally avoided.
“As we age, the brows do not grow in as well. So if we over-pluck, that can become a problem,” Celine explains.
Rather, she encourages people to start filling in their eyebrows with pencils and brow gels.
“Anything that feels like you’re naturally growing the brow back in is going to be a good technique.”
Keeping the silver strands
The second eyebrow mistake to avoid is letting gray hairs grow where they don’t quite belong.
If the hairs on the top of your head are starting to turn silver, that’s not always seen as an issue.
It becomes a problem if the hairs in your eyebrows are visibly gray since they can make you look totally washed out.
Celine’s advice is to make sure you don’t fill in your eyebrows or dye your eyebrows with a color that’s much too dark though.
Too much sculpting
Finally, Celine says to avoid being too heavy-handed with your eyebrow sculpting.
She says: “Overly sculpted brows can be on-trend, but they are not flattering and can be harsh on the face.”
