I had huge boobs & finding clothes, going to the gym or even working was awful – I had TWO kilos removed & feel amazing
A WOMAN felt so self-conscious about her 34G breasts that she would avoid going out to avoid comments about her breasts.
Amanda Barriskell, 23, from Glasgow, Scotland, revealed it even made her job as a hairdresser difficult - her breasts were so heavy that she would often find herself hunching over.
But now the 23-year-old has had life-changing surgery and had two kilos of breast fat and tissue removed, going down three cup sizes.
Amanda would also avoid going out and socialising with friends as she struggled to find clothes that fit and when she did, would constantly receive comments about her breasts.
But the worst part for Amanda was the excruciating back pain she would have from the weight of her boobs.
"My body was so out of proportion that it made me anxious about going out to socialise because I would have a meltdown about what to wear," Amanda told NeedToKnow.online.
"I didn't feel comfortable wearing certain items of clothing, as I always felt like I was revealing too much of myself.
"If I wore anything too baggy, it made me look like the size of a house.
"My boobs were so heavy that I found myself hunching over a lot to ease the pain.
"My job had a massive part in this too, as I was leaning over and stretching up, which put strain on one side of my back when using the hairdryer.
"[However], the biggest factor in my decision for my breast reduction was my backache.
"No matter how many massages or workouts I had done, nothing helped.
"I was known for always having a big chest and I hated them so much, but nobody understood."
Unaware of her struggles, Amanda says people would often tell her they wished they had her chest or cup size - while she was desperate to get rid of them.
Back in March, Amanda booked herself in for a £6,000 breast reduction surgery at Nuffield Health Hospital, which she paid for herself and with the help of family.
Amanda couldn't be happier going from a 34G to 34DD, but found the recovery process difficult.
Amanda said: "It's not the pain [that is difficult], it's more having to have someone to help you do the most simplest of things – like showering, making food, changing your bedding.
Amanda has now returned to work and is now back in the gym, focusing on her love of fitness.
She added: "I’m back to work now and taking it easy in the gym, but I’m super confident about my new boobs – I feel amazing.
"I absolutely love them although they are not fully healed [yet], but I’m definitely healing really well.
"It’s been a little bit of a blur for me as it all happened so fast and looking back on a few weeks ago, I’m in such a better head space than I was before surgery.
"I can now wear clothes I wasn’t able to before and feel more confident in doing so.
"Even though I’m still in recovery, my confidence has shot up and I’m feeling so much better within myself.
"My friends and boyfriend Dan have been a massive part in picking up my self-esteem too.
"I was feeling very low halfway through recovery and to know they had my back 24/7 was really uplifting.
"I’m so grateful to have such a great support system because you most certainly need one for an operation like this."
Amanda recently shared her before and after transformation on TikTok, where she has received 13,700 views and thousands of likes.
In the clip, she reveals videos of her before the operation from different angles.

Shortly after, the footage cuts to show her now as the hairdresser sports a huge smile while revealing her new breasts in a bra.
Amanda captioned the clip: "The reveal, three cup sizes and two kilograms down, best decision I’ve ever made!"
