To get rid of the more difficult dirt stains that hit your patio, gave clear directions on how to properly clean it, and it could remove weeds too.

Algae, moss, lichen, and other fungi can begin to grow when a patio is moist. This stains the color of your patio's paving.

Similarly, in the process of laying your paving, cement mortar can spill and dry on the paving surface.

Luckily, this can be helped, and your patio slabs can easily be cleaned with water and vinegar.

To get the job done, you'll need a heavy duty garden broom, a watering can, a weeding tool, a bucket and water, and some white vinegar.

First, move all the plants and furniture out of the way so that they won't be effected by the acid in the vinegar water. For items that can't be relocated, cover them with a sheet.

Sweep the area ensuring that it's completely clean and get rid of any lingering weeds.

Vinegar has been cited as a great way to remove weeds by various gardening experts, so lingering weeds will likely be cleaned by the patio cleaner too, making this tip a double whammy.

After you've cleared the area of various items and weeds, it's time to make your patio cleaning solution. Your solution will consist of one part vinegar and one part water.

If your patio is on the dirtier side, use more vinegar than water in the solution.

Once your solution is made, pour it into a watering can. Using the watering can, distribute the solution evenly onto the patio paving, covering everything evenly.

Be sure to get it in between the cracks in the cement that are between the slabs so that the vinegar can destroy any leftover weeds.

When you're satisfied with the coverage, leave it to soak for 20 minutes.

Within that time the solution will work its magic, and you'll simply have to mop the area clean with cold water after the time has elapsed.
