RE-ELECTED French leader Emmanuel Macron turned heads when pictured with his shirt open, revealing thick chest hair.
The snaps went viral, sparking debate about whether the president’s hirsute look was appealing or unnerving.
It’s not just body hair that grabs our attention.
Bearded blokes are said to be 62 per cent hotter than other men, according to a study of People mag’s Sexiest Man Alive lists.
So what does fellas’ fuzz, or lack of it, say about them?
MEN WITH BUSHY BROWS WANT MORE SEX: Blokes with unruly thick eyebrows are thought to have higher sex drives, says facial expert Jean Haner, author of The Wisdom Of Your Face.
She said: “The stronger they are on someone’s face, the more self-confidence they have, and the more driven they’ll be.
"You’ll also tend to take a logical approach to life and have a strong sex drive.”
Men who have distinguished brows along with a chiselled jawline and a deep voice are also perceived to be more dominant, a study by York University found.
BEARDED BLOKES ARE MOST LIKELY TO CHEAT: If your fella has facial fuzz, he probably has a wandering eye, according to a survey by software firm Qualtrics.

The research found 47 per cent of men with beards had affairs compared with just 20 per cent of their clean-shaven counterparts.
But a moustache is a turn-off for most women.
Men with a hairy upper lip were generally considered less desirable and intelligent than beardy guys.
BALD MEN ARE LESS ATTRACTIVE, BUT MORE MACHO: Film heartthrob Jason Statham might have made baldness sexier but one US study by Bucknell University found bald white men were rated as less attractive than men with hair.
But the amount of hair did not make any difference when it came to desirability in black men.
A different study revealed women find bald men more powerful, intelligent and masculine.
HAIRY-CHESTED MEN ARE MORE INTELLIGENT: Men with hair on their chests generally score higher in IQ tests than those who reach for the razor, according to Mensa experts.
The same study by Mensa showed that some of the most intelligent men — those with an IQ of at least 140 — had hair on their chests and their backs.
But a YouGov poll revealed six in ten women find back rugs a turn-off.
Research by psychiatrist Dr Aikarakudy Alias found hairy chests more common among highly educated men, such as doctors.
FERTILE WOMEN PREFER BALD CHESTS: Slovakian researchers asked women to rate the attractiveness of men with hairy and hairless chests, and found that only 20 per cent preferred the fuzzier version.
Further research published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behaviour suggests that women in fertile phases of their menstrual cycles are attracted to less hair on men than those in less-fertile phases, who prefer a slightly hairier look.
Meanwhile wome who are post-menopausal prefer more chest hair, according to a study by the Oxford Academy.
FELLAS WITH FUZZY TOES ARE HEALTHIER: Hairy feet can be an instant turn-off for women but they can say a lot about a man’s health.
They are a sign that circulation is in good working order and bodily organs such as the heart are working well, says dermatologist Shruti Kakar of the Medcare Medical Centre in Dubai.
A man should be concerned about poor circulation if their once hairy toes turn bald.
GINGER MEN HAVE SUPERPOWERS: Several studies of redheads have found that the bodies of those with ginger hair are more resilient due to the altered genes giving them different DNA.
One found that they have a higher pain threshold.
Dr David E Fisher of Massachusetts General Hospital concluded that there is a connection between redheads’ variant of MC1R — the gene that controls the production of melanin, which is the pigment that gives skin, hair and eyes their colour — and a higher tolerance to pain.
Ginger fellas are also seen as being funnier than the rest of the population due to an association with the circus clown, who has historically worn an eye-catching red wig.
BRUNETTES ARE SEXIEST: Researchers from the University of Tampa, in Florida, US, found that brown hair is the sexiest tone of all — in both men and women.
The 2018 study looked at the preferences of more than 1,900 male and female students at the university.
After showing them pictures of the same man and woman with different dyed hair colours, the researchers found 71 per cent of women and 67 per cent of men chose brunette.
Fair hair was voted second favourite by both sexes.
MEN WITH SNAIL TRAILS ARE MATURE: The area in which a man has body hair doesn’t matter nearly as much as what it looks and feels like.

A quarter of women aged 25 to 39 like a fully shaved pubic area according to a poll by YouGov, but a little body hair, properly maintained, shows maturity and can look attractive.
And that includes the hair that runs downward from a man’s belly button.
