WITH fame comes both negative and positive reactions. However, Selling Sunset's Mary Fitzgerald has no idea what the mean things people are saying about her anymore.

In an exclusive interview with The US Sun, she revealed the measures she takes to not let any negativity affect her life.

When the 41-year-old first appeared on the show, she had just begun dating her boyfriend at the time, Romain Bonnett, who is 13 years younger than her.

Even without knowing them, many Selling Sunset fans took to social media to slam their relationship.

Some claimed the 28-year-old was using the realtor for her money, while others slammed her for dating a much younger man.

Despite the hate and trolls backing off after the couple got married in the fall of 2019, she still gets some comments that are out of place.

"I'm one of the lucky ones, 95 percent of the comments are all amazing and positive. But there are some really really mean and hurtful messages," she opened up.

"I think that's what people don't understand – we are human, we are people, we are doing our best.

"And when they come at us, it hurts! So I have my assistant go through all the DM's and if there's something that she knows will hurt me, she doesn't let me see it. She'll delete them and protects me from that.

"I have a heart, I'm trying! No one is perfect."

"But they've backed off because during the first season, they were brutal and the only time I would actually respond was to defend Romain.

"Towards season two, they were much nicer and now, people love him. They start seeing his personality," adding that people would see Romain in a different light than she does, boasting about knowing three languages.

Mary also revealed that people will often also attack her online for discussions she's had in the show with other people.

"It hurts and you second guess yourself, because you thought you were doing something good and then people attack you," she talked.

"And then you have to stop and think about what's going on in their lives that they are taking the time out to intentionally hurt someone they don't know.

"Why are you taking the time out to be mean? I'm sorry that you are hurting and felt the need to hurt others.

"Hurt people hurt others."

Unfortunately, that's not something she can apply to real life as she's forced to deal with whoever brings drama to her life in the show.

Selling Sunset premiered on Friday, April 22 on Netflix.
