SELLING Sunset's resident realtor associate has revealed the things that make your home look super cheap, as well as a few easy hacks to boost its appeal.
Mary Fitzgerald has become the most successful realtor in The Oppenheim Group.
Talking exclusively to The Sun, the 41-year-old revealed the first thing she notices when she walks into a home.
"You get one first impression, so a quick coat of paint, staging, and the cleanliness of the home appeal to all the masses," she explained.
"Have it feel absolutely spotless. There are always things that need to be fixed but if you can't see it, it makes the difference."
And as for what makes a home seem cheap? Mary revealed that laminated floors just aren't her thing.
"A lot of people cheap out on floors, bathrooms, appliances - but people know," she said.
"People know what the top appliances are, they always ask what the floors are."
If you plan to sell your home in the future, Mary advised splurging on the floors, bathroom, and kitchen to make your home a more updated look even if it's a more classic style.
On top of that, to add luxury to a home, she recommended adding sconces or even a good chandelier your home will turn it "into something mesmerizing."
But the easiest way to do it is by making sure your yards and the landscaping are always on point.
"It's super simple but make sure to really keep up with the landscaping and the painting of the home," she said.
"They're super simple and it doesn't matter the differences in the size of the property because you can sell it with those two things."
Depending on what the style of your home is, you can go all out with succulents, ficus trees, vibrant flowers, and plants.
And it's not just about having plants all over, but you have to make sure you're always taking care of them.
