Five times Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have snubbed the Queen as they head to Holland after missing Philip’s memorial

MEGHAN and Harry have snubbed the Queen as they head to Holland just days after refusing to come to Philip's memorial service.

But this is not the first time that the couple have shunned the Royal Family and Her Majesty in recent years.

Missing Prince Philip's memorial

Meghan and Harry have been most recently accused of snubbing the Queen when they decided to fly to Holland for the Invictus Games - just days after missing Philip's memorial.

Harry's grandfather Prince Philip passed away on April 9, 2021, but the royal family decide to celebrate his life a year on as Covid restrictions at the time meant numbers were limited.

But despite the invite, Harry and Meghan did not attend the memorial at Westminister Abbey.

But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will both be in The Hague for the opening ceremony of Harry's games for wounded soldiers on Saturday.

It will be the first time the couple have been together in Europe since Megxit two years ago.

Reports of the couple's transatlantic plans come as the Duke of Sussex remains embroiled in a legal row with the UK Government over his police protection.

He claimed he didn't feel safe to return without Scotland Yard cops alongside him - meaning he controversially missed Prince Philip's memorial at Westminster Abbey.

Regardless, Harry and Meghan will be flying to the Netherlands for the Games, which take place between April 16 and 22.

Declining Queen's invite to Balmoral

In 2019, Harry and Meghan also snubbed the Queen by declining her invite to Balmoral - saying that at the time, four-month-old Archie was too young.

But his age didn’t stop them taking him to Ibiza for a week and then to see Elton John in France.

And then days later Meghan flew to New York to watch Serena Williams play tennis — after snubbing the stay with the Queen because she was “too busy”.

The Duchess of Sussex saw her pal storm through to the semi-final of the US Open while leaving Archie and Harry at home.

Meghan and Harry's response after stepping back from duties

At the beginning of 2021, Meghan and Harry officially quit the Royal Family.

At the time, the Queen today said she was "saddened" after her grandson and the Duchess of Sussex confirmed they would not be returning as working members of the family.

A statement released by the Palace said The Queen wrote to say that it is “not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service”.

But at the time, Harry and Meghan hit back and said in a sassy statement: "We can all live a life of service. Service is universal."

Meghan and Harry last year announced they were quitting as royals, saying they wanted to become financially independent.

And in the meantime, they've signed multi-million dollar deals with Spotify and Netflix - as well as launching Archewell.

Not attending Queen's first Christmas without Philip

Last year was the first Christmas since the death of the Queen's "strength and stay" Prince Philip in April.

But Harry and Meghan

The Palace did invite Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, to join them for their traditional Christmas Day festivities in Sandringham, but they declined.

They instead stayed in LA for the holidays for the second year in a row.

Although the pandemic has made air travel difficult in recent years, Harry and Meghan were still able to jet about - with Harry visiting the UK last summer for Diana's statue reveal.

But the pair decided to keep to themselves in Montecito for Christmas.

The Queen not yet meeting Lilibet

Meghan and Harry welcomed their second child into the world in June last year - but the Queen still hasn't met her namesake, little Lilibet.

Her Majesty is said to be "desperate" to meet her great-granddaughter - but 10 months on she still hasn't met the tot.

The Queen has also spent limited time with grandson Archie, who was still a baby when the Sussexes moved to California.

The family speak via video chat, it's reported.

There were hopes that the Sussexes would come over for Christmas 2021 and introduce Lilibet to the Queen - but that did not happen.

And after Harry declined the invitation to come to Philip's memorial, royal experts said it's now unlikely that the Queen will ever meet Lilibet.

Speaking about the chances, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: "It's increasingly unlikely.

"If they don't bring Lili over, then obviously that won't happen. It's all something that's clearly not going to be resolved in the foreseeable future.

"And it doesn't seem like they're going to come over."
