My husband and I don’t share finances – I refused to pay for his and his family’s meal & now he’s mad, but was I wrong?
A SUCCESSFUL wife was left confused when her husband got so irritated because she refused to pay for him and his family's dinner.
The anonymous woman claimed they had gathered to celebrate him and the bonus he was receiving from work.
The working wife, who posted on Reddit asking if she was in the wrong, revealed they haven't shared their finances for the last three years of their marriage.
Despite a few times he'd try to get her to pay for him, the arrangement had been going well for them.
Whenever she wanted to do something nice for him, she'd pick up the bill.
But things got a little dicey recently.

Her husband was over the moon about the bonus he was going to receive from work and decided to celebrate with her and his family.
Since he had been the one to make the plans and invite everyone, his wife assumed he was going to take care of everyone's bill.
However, she was in for a shock when she realized he wanted her to "take care of it."
When she questioned why she should pay, he just insisted she pay and that he would "explain later."

She shared: "I refused and demanded an explanation."
While he had arranged the party, he was under the impression she would cover the bill.
She wrote: " When I talked about how ridiculous it was of him to assume I'd pay for not just his, but his family's meals, he said that I should be happy for him instead of being visibly bitter.
"He then said he's yet to receive his bonus and begged that I take care of the bill now and he 'might' consider paying me back later.
"I refused and only paid for what I consumed. He and his family started talking about how inappropriate I was acting.
"I took my purse and went home afterward cause there was so much commotion when they started arguing who's going to cover the bill."
Of course, she ended up leaving which infuriated family members and her mother-in-law ended up blowing up her phone after she walked out of the restaurant.
But when her husband got home, things got worse.
He started blaming her and her bitter attitude for ruining his celebration especially since she apparently had enough money to cover everything.
Nevertheless, she made it clear that it was never her obligation to pay since he had been the one to come up with the idea to go celebrate.
Regardless of it being his idea, he claimed that if she had been the one being celebrated he would have taken care of her and her family's meal.
But she quickly pointed out that was his way of doing things, not hers.

His anger quickly escalated after that so he made it clear he wasn't ever going to forget the scene she made in front of his family.
Fortunately for the woman, almost everyone who read her post agreed that she was in the right for not wanting to pay the bill.
