I’ve been a tattoo artist for 25 years – people are slamming my lion design saying it looks like a movie character
ONE experienced tattoo studio owner made an ink fail that could really ruin Christmas.
A California tattoo artist with over 20 years of experience was supposed to give his client a lion design behind his ear - but the design ended up looking like The Grinch.
Instead, the customer got a figure that resembles the green creature from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Reddit user u/pokebong_420 posted a picture of a design by a tattoo artist who he claimed was the owner of Carpe Diem Tattoo Parlor in Montebello.
"I just can’t believe this," he commented on his own post. "20+ years of tattooing..."
Though the Grinch-like tattoo doesn't belong to the person who posted it, he actually used to work for the artist.
"I’m a tattoo artist who used to work there, saw my ex-boss butchering this [man's] neck and thought I would share the gem," the Reddit user explained.
People have been leaving comments on the with their horrified and hilarious reactions to the botched body art.
"Well… looks like practice doesn’t always make perfect," one comment says.
Other commenters make comparisons other than the Grinch: The Beast from Beauty and the Beast, a rat, and even an "angry carpet sample."
One user gave advice to the client: "Luckily it's greywash so hopefully it heals super light and you can pay someone familiar with opaque greys to blast over it."
