Queen Elizabeth news: Public outrage as Prince Andrew WILL attend Prince Phillip service after sex assault case
PRINCE Andrew will attend Prince Phillip's memorial service next week in his first public appearance since settling the sex abuse allegations against him, his spokesman has revealed.
The thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey will celebrate the life of his father, Prince Philip, who died last year.
It will mark The Duke of York's first public appearance since he paying an alleged £7 million settlement to Virginia Giuffre to get her to drop the civil sex assault case brought against him in the US.
Prince Harry has already said he will not be attending but The Queen is expected to attend the service next Tuesday.
Prince Andrew rejected any claims of wrongdoing after agreeing to make payments to Ms Giuffre and her victims’ rights charity in a settlement which ended the prospect of a trial in New York.
But there have been questions about the prince’s reputational damage and his future role in royal events.
Royal fans took to Twitter to express their outrage.
One said: "No no no! We don’t want to see him in public ever! If he must attend then the service shouldn’t be aired!"

Prince William ‘displeased’ about upcoming BBC drama
The BBC has confirmed that in its new drama, The Reckoning, the roles of Prince Charles and Princess Diana are “not speaking roles” and a “briefly seen”.
The show will explore the crimes of Jimmy Savile, featuring Princess Diana, portrayed by Kate Tickle, meeting him. It will even recreate the moment at the 1983 opening of the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
However, there have been reports that Prince William is “particularly displeased” about the show.
A source said: “Prince William would have preferred not to see his mother feature alongside this vile monster at all.
“Although Diana was one of the important people who Savile ingratiated himself with, there were many others whose influence played a greater part in him getting access to young people and hiding in plain sight.”
Responding to the comments a BBC spokesperson said: “Prince Charles and Princess Diana do not have speaking roles but are seen briefly in a scene that reflects their presence at the official opening of the new Spinal Injuries Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital – where it later emerged that Savile had committed horrific abuse.”

“She has really encouraged him.
“Her whole life is to make him happy, I think.
“She found things that really make him feel important and worthy rather than just going to cut ribbons.
“I think she has helped him to be a husband by introducing him to her own family a lot and spending time with a normal family and being a dad.”

Prince Charles’ ‘joke’ nickname for Camilla
Prince Charles “jokingly called” Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, his ‘Girl Friday’, according to a royal biographer.
Vanity Fair contributing editor and historian Sally Bedell Smith spoke to the Royally Obsessed podcast about the Prince of Wales’ relationship with his wife.
Ms Bedell Smith said: “It was a very simple bracelet, a little gold bracelet, with a blue disk on it.
“It just said ‘GF’ and ‘GF’ meant ‘Girl Friday’. That’s what he jokingly called her. It just meant that she was sort of his companion, his helper.”
She continued: “It could have meant that she was his Friday girl too. But ‘Girl Friday’ usually refers to someone who’s a sort of Jill of all trades.
“She could help him out with things, and she was sort of reliable. Camilla would definitely fit that bill.”
The ‘GF’ on the bracelet however was originally thought to represent ‘Gladys and Fred’ – the nicknames Charles and Camilla used for each other when they started dating in their 20s.

Royal author Robert Hardman claims that what made the occasion “exceptional” was the rapport Obama had – with “a host who could talk with such authority about so many of his predecessors. “
In an extract of his new book, ‘Queen Of Our Times: The Life Of Elizabeth II’ published by Macmillan on March 17, Mr Hardman explains how the night unfolded.
Mr Hardman wrote: “Obama had been enjoying himself so much that the Queen had eventually taken the Chancellor of the Exchequer to one side to ask if he might, very discreetly, let the U.S. President know that it was bedtime.
“‘I just said: “Yes, Ma’am,’ George Osborne recalls. ‘I could see Obama with a drink in hand, and I was thinking: What do I do? I couldn’t just interrupt and say: ‘Oh, the Queen wants you to go to bed’.
“Fortunately, he was saved by the Queen’s private secretary, who gently nudged proceedings to a close.”
