My wife found my dating profile and is demanding a divorce – she doesn’t believe when I say it’s not me
A NIGHTMARE situation unfolded for a father-to-be whose pregnant wife moved out of their home, accusing him of infidelity – but the explanation behind his innocence is even more unsettling.
The desperate man turned to Reddit's Relationship Advice board after his wife's friend sent her a series of screenshots, alleging they showed his dating site profile.
"I really do understand how bad this looks," the anonymous husband wrote by way of introduction.
Even though the profile used his recent photos and was actively messaging women on the app, the man insisted he wasn't the user.
"This is not me," he repeated. "I haven’t been on a dating app for years, but I don’t know how to prove that."
"When my wife confronted me on this, I was as shocked as her," he told his fellow Reddit users.
But his wife, who is 36 weeks pregnant, stopped speaking to him.
She left their home when she saw the messages, accused him of being a cheater, and swore she would file for divorce.

"If my wife told the situation from her perspective, people would think I’m lying, even I would, but I am not," he added, pleading for help from the community.
In the comments, other Reddit users asked questions about the man's social media presence and online activity.
He was able to confirm that all the photos on the dating site were taken from his public social media profiles – meaning the impostor could be anyone.
"Maybe you both create a fake profile to interact with this existing profile to catch the culprit that is impersonating you online," said one user.
"It might help her see it’s not you."
Others agreed that this was the best strategy, with another person pointing out that it could also demonstrate that the responses weren't coming from the husband's device.
Some warned that the man should check his credit report, alert his bank, and lockdown other sensitive information in case the dating app profile was part of a larger scam.
"Bogus profiles need to start with real information, so they scrape and steal data from real people," warned one person.
Not everyone was on the original poster's side, with some accusing him of using Reddit as a cover.
"This feels like the kind of post you make so you can show it to your spouse and go 'look, why would I post this if I was cheating!'" wrote one skeptic.
The heartbroken husband thanked respondents for their advice and said he would try to sit down with his wife and prove his innocence.
"My wife and I had such a good relationship," he lamented.
"We weren't fighting, life was good, we were getting ready for the baby, and then boom, it's all ruined."
