FIXIN' THE KITCHEN

I decorated my entire kitchen on a budget but it went horribly wrong – my attempts to fix it made it look even worse

A SAVVY DIYer decided to revamp her kitchen only to realise she hated her first choice and rip it all out to try another colour - TWICE.

The YouTuber initially put a wood-style vinyl over her worktops only to realise she didn't like them and replace them for a white wood alternative.

She then decided that the white would work better with pink walls but again, disliked the bright colour so had to completely restart both the walls and the worktop to get it perfect.

She explained that a friend advised her to cover the whole worktop before deciding, which maximised the work needed for the project.

She used a thin ruler, a blade, a scraper, DCfix vinyl and a pair of scissors, to install the cover on her worktops.

After applying the new vinyl she initially thought she really liked it - but changed her mind so pulled it up to lay white wood vinyl instead.

The woman, who posts with the handle , said: "I hated it. It looked like a DIY kitchen, I know it is DIY but that's not what we're going for.

"It looked tacky, it looked horrible. It looked horrific."

She decided to change the whole scheme again for a grey worktop and wanted to make it less boring so I decided to paint the walls pink.

This also wasn't to her taste as she explained that the result made her kitchen "look like a playroom".

Once she had repainted the walls to a far lighter more delicate peach colour, she was finally happy with the result.

The DIYer said: "Long story short - it's complete and I really like it. Now I understand why people paint their homes white and stick to neutral colours, because colour is very very hard."
