I’m 6ft 7ins and was told I’d never have kids – I had a miracle pregnancy and ended up with a giant baby

A WOMAN who is 6ft 7ins tall welcomed her first baby after being told she would never have kids.

Haleigh, who lives in Cleveland, Tennessee, stands almost a foot taller than her husband Brian who is 5ft 8ins tall.

Just a few months into their marriage the couple began to try for a baby but due to Hayleigh’s ovarian cysts and misshapen uterus, they struggled to conceive.

Speaking on TLC's My Giant Life, Haleigh said: “I’m excited about my giant baby. Brian and I call this our miracle baby because we were told by different doctors that we couldn’t get pregnant.

“Thinking I couldn’t have kids was the hardest thing I’ve ever dealt with. I wanted to be a mom since I was a little kid.

“I really felt like I was letting Brian down - it was a hard six months but then we got pregnant with a miracle baby without trying.”

And Haleigh and Brian are anticipating that their baby will take after her mum.

Ahead of the birth, Haleigh said: “I think we will have a pretty tall baby, the baby this week is supposed to be around two and a half pounds and it weighs 4lbs 11 ounces so over double what it’s supposed to be.”

When it came to the birth, Haleigh’s height proved to be a problem.

“The size of the bed in the birthing room was too small and the stirrups didn’t fit at all,” Brian explained, revealing that he and the nurse had to hold Haleigh’s legs as she pushed.

Despite concerns over a placenta previa, Haleigh safely delivered a healthy baby girl called Kaya James.

And the couple’s predictions about the baby’s height were completely correct with the little girl measuring in at 22 and a half inches long when arriving home from hospital, two and a half inches longer than the average American newborn.

Kaya’s larger size meant that the couple were forced to put her in clothes for a baby of six months almost straight away.

Haleigh said: “I’m proud that Kaya is already so long, technically tall even though she doesn’t stand yet.”
