Brits who develop coronavirus symptoms are asked to notify those they have been in contact with in the previous 48 hours.

Her Majesty has led by example throughout the pandemic, sitting alone at her husband's funeral in April 2021 and cancelling a family Christmas party in December because it was "the right thing to do".

Despite a period of ill-health towards the end of last year, she has appeared to be on sprightly form during her recent engagements.

She was most recently seen on Monday, when she beamed brightly as she travelled to Windsor from Sandringham after announcing Camilla will be Queen Consort when Charles is King.

She also made reporters laugh as she petted her dorgi while reading cards sent by children as she celebrates her Platinum Jubilee.

However, her aides will be keeping her schedule light before a series of outings in March.

Officials are keen she will not be rushed and “lessons have been learned” since her punishing 19 jobs in as many days last October, which led to her resting on doctors’ orders.

PRINCE ISOLATES

Charles is resting at home after his positive test, which was taken this morning as routine before any public engagements.

He attended a black tie reception at the British Museum last night with the Duchess of Cornwall.

Camilla has tested negative, telling reporters today she was "lucky" - and that Charles is finding it a "bit tiresome" to have the illness for a second time.

Yesterday, the prince met with guests including Chancellor Mr Sunak, who has since tested negative, and Priti Patel to celebrate the work of the British Asian Trust (BAT).

Earlier this week, he awarded OBEs to chefs Fergus Henderson, who has Parkinson's Disease, and his wife Margot, and an MBE to Dr Nisreen Alwan, who campaigns for long Covid awareness.

Under Covid rules, if you live with or come into contact with someone who tests positive you do not have to self-isolate if fully vaccinated.

Both Charles and Camilla are triple-jabbed and have encouraged others to get the vaccine.

Clarence House said: "This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.
