The harrowing last meal choices of some of the world’s most deadly criminals
IT’S often banded about at a dinner party, which meal would you eat if you could only have one more, but for some infamous criminals this choice has been very real.
While some decided to keep it simple, others indulged in feasts made up of thousands of calories.
Some of the demands have become so extreme that Texas inmates are no longer permitted to request a last supper.
Instead, they are given the same meal given to other incarcerated inmates.
But what did these notorious criminals indulge in during their final moments?
Here are the last dinners of some of the world’s most deadly criminals before they faced the ultimate punishment...
Victor Feguer
Convicted murderer Victor Feguer was the last person to be put to death in the state of Iowa.
He requested a single olive with the pit still in it.
He hoped that once he was dead the seed would grow producing an olive tree which would be seen as a symbol of peace.
John Wayne Gacy
Vicious serial killer and rapist John Wayne Gacy assaulted and killed at least 33 young men and boys.
For his final meal he requested 12 fried shrimp, a bucket of KFC fried chicken with chips and a pound of strawberries.
Before his conviction he had managed three KFC restaurants.
Timothy McVeigh
Convicted terrorist Timothy McVeigh was responsible for the deaths of 168 people after he detonated a truck bomb in Oklahoma City in 1995.
He requested two pints of mint chocolate chip ice-cream for his dinner before he was executed by lethal injection.
Ricky Ray Rector
Ricky Ray Rector was sentenced to death after he killed a police officer in Arkansas USA.
His last meal consisted of a steak, fried chicken, some cherry Kool-Aid and a pecan pie.
He didn’t eat the pecan pie as he told the guard he was “saving it for later.”
Stephen Anderson
The extensive rap sheet of Stephen Anderson included burglary, assault, a prison break and seven counts of murder.
He asked for an unusual combination of grilled cheese sandwiches, a pint of cottage cheese, corn mixture, peach pie with chocolate chip ice-cream and radishes.
Ted Bundy
Ted Bundy was a notorious murderer, rapist and necrophiliac who was responsible for the deaths of numerous women in the 1970s.
He declined to order a special meal and was therefore offered the standard last supper of a steak medium rare, over easy eggs, hash browns, toast with butter and jam, a glass of milk and a glass of orange juice.
Angel Nieves Diaz
Angel Nieves Diaz was convicted of murdering the manager of a strip club in 1979 and was sentenced to death by lethal injection.
Not only did he decline a final meal choice he also refused to eat the regular prison meal he was offered.
Ronnie Lee Gardner
Initially arrested for murder, Ronnie Lee Gardner added another two murders to his record when he shot an attorney during an escape attempt and later stabbed another inmate.
He opted for surf and turf as his final meal ordering a lobster tail and a steak along with apple pie and vanilla ice-cream for dessert.
He requested to enjoy his final dinner while watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Allen Lee ‘Tiny’ Davis
Mass murderer Allen Lee ‘Tiny’ Davis was sentenced to death after killing and brutally beating a pregnant woman and her two daughters.
His final meal was a lobster tail, fried potatoes, fried shrimp, fried clams, garlic bread and a root beer.
Teresa Lewis
Teresa Lewis was convicted of murdering her husband and stepson in 2002 and was sentenced to death by lethal injection.
Another fried chicken fan, she requested chicken, peas with butter along with an apple pie and Dr Pepper.
Ferdinando Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti
Italian-born anarchists Ferdinando Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were convicted of murdering a guard and paymaster during an armed robbery.
For their final meal they asked for a simple combination of soup, meat, toast and tea.
Ronnie Threadgill
Ronnie Threadgill was sentenced to death after shooting and killing a boy during a carjacking.
He requested baked chicken, mashed potatoes with country gravy, vegetables, sweet peas, bread, tea, water and punch as his final meal.
But in 2011 Texas abolished the last meal rule so he was given standard prison food along with the other inmates.
Aileen Wuornos
The notorious serial killer and subject of Charlize Theron’s film Monster, Aileen Wuornos shot seven men at point blank range between 1989 and 1990.
She declined a special last meal but did later eat a hamburger and snack from the canteen and drank a cup of coffee.
Eric Nance
Convicted of the murder of a young woman he had stopped to help on the motorway, Eric Nance was sentenced to death.
For his final meal he ordered two bacon cheeseburgers and chips with two pints of chocolate chip cookie dough ice-cream and two coca-colas.
Joseph Mitchell Parsons
Joseph Mitchell Parsons was executed in 1987 after killing a man who picked him up as a hitchhiker.
He placed a mammoth order for his final meal- three Burger King Whoppers, two large chips, a chocolate milkshake, chocolate chip ice-cream and a pack of grape Hubba Bubba bubblegum, all of which he shared with his brother and a cousin.
John David Duty
John David Duty was convicted of rape, robbery and shooting with intent to kill in 1978.
While serving his prison sentence he strangled another inmate and was subsequently put on death row.
His final dinner request was for a double cheeseburger with mayonnaise, a foot-long hot dog with cheese, mustard and onions, cherry lemonade, and a banana milkshake.
