THERE'S no denying that skincare can leave quite the hole in our budget - but, according to an expert, this doesn't always have to be the case.
In the last few months, TikTok beauty community has gone crazy over Vaseline for slugging, which is supposed to help with dry skin - our beauty panelist, Keshia East, even tried the trend herself.
However, the popular item has found itself another use - as something akin to make-up primer.
The social media beauty and skincare fanatic, , claimed the cheap tube of petroleum jelly does wonders for a smooth application and is particularly beneficial for those with textured and dry skin.
''For me this has been a game changer!'' said Sarah, who has almost 175 thousand followers on Instagram.

According to her, all you need to do is add a bit of Vaseline to your foundation and apply it like normal.
''My foundation glides over dry patches and texture, doesn’t crease, and looks so pretty and glowy,'' she wrote in the caption.
''I usually choose a matte foundation with the coverage and longevity I want and then the vaseline just adds the glow I need.''

She even insisted that this simple skincare routine works great if you live in colder climate where harsh weather conditions will often result in painful wind burns.
