Autumn beauty buys to snap up now including Olapex, Huda Beauty, Ciate and more
Autumn is officially here, which means it’s time to don the chunky knits (whoop!), 100-denier tights (boo!) and switch your S/S pastel eyeliner back to black.
How you wear it is up to you – Valentino went for extra-long flicks
on the catwalk, while Schiaparelli favoured miniature kitten wings and ’90s lower-lash liner was spotted at Dior.
The perfect eyeliner?
For smudge-proof wear, use, £20, on the lash line, and , £16, for wings that won’t budge. If, like me, you’re incapable of drawing a flick, ,
£5.95, is shaped like a wing so you just have to press it on.

- Huda Beauty Life Liner Quick N’Easy, £16, Cult Beauty -
- Lottie London Stamp Liner, £5.95, Lottie London -
Christine Quinn X Ciate
It’s not as fun as the TikTok brights trend, but results in fewer raised eyebrows, especially now we’re back in the office. Speaking of which, the first lockdown is now, thankfully, a distant memory.
But while everyone was hooked on Tiger King, I preferred Selling Sunset, thanks to the glam outfits, flawless make-up and fiery personalities. So imagine my excitement when I heard that SS’s Christine Quinn
was bringing out a cosmetics line in collaboration with Brit brand .
The collection features her signature red lip, a finishing powder and my favourite,, £35. Its warm shades are perfect for day or night, thanks to the matte and glitter finishes.

Olaplex Purple Shampoo
From an icon with great hair to an iconic great-hair giver: Olaplex has just launched a game-changer. Despite the brand’s cult status, I’d never tried it – my hair is healthy and hasn’t been coloured. Until last month, when I took the plunge and got a baby-blonde balayage (my hand firmly held by award-winning colourist Samantha Cusick).
Call it divine timing, but that same week, £26, landed on my desk.
It contains patented bond-building technology that repairs damage from the inside, with purple pigment to neutralise brassy tones. I’ve been using it every other wash and I wouldn’t be surprised if it became the brand’s bestseller.

Prai MenoGlow
Finally, October marks Menopause Awareness Month and today we launch
our Fabulous Menopause Matters campaign. Research by Prai found 77% of women think their skin has changed because of the menopause, 74% feel their skincare products need to adapt, and 86% are keen for brands to break down the taboo around the menopause.
Prai MenoGlow, from £20, targets hormonal issues associated with the menopause, such as dehydration, sagging and dullness.
Here’s to more brands getting involved!

THE BEAUTY PANEL
I’ve heard loads about tubing mascaras recently, but what actually are they? Shanice, Newcastle
Ruby Hammer: As a contact-lens wearer, I’ve always been a fan of tubing mascaras. Rather than loading the lashes with wax-based pigment, they wrap them in micro-fibres, giving gentle definition and length without flaking and crumbling – which can irritate eyes.
Depending on your budget and preferred wand, my favourites are Clinique Lash Power, £21, Glossier Lash Slick, £12 and Trish McEvoy
Lash Curling Mascara, £22.50.
For volume though, you’re better off with a traditional formula.
