ONE of Diana’s most iconic pictures – thanks to that see-through skirt – this was taken by Sun snapper Arthur Edwards back in September 1980.

It shows the shy 19-year-old, who was then working as a nursery assistant at the Young England Kindergarten in Pimlico, London.

Around that time in Charles and Diana’s courtship, we often saw Di captured by paparazzi as she made her way to work.

“I adore children,” she said, when asked why she’d gone into the job.

WHEN Charles and Diana got engaged in February 1981, to us it seemed like a real-life fairy tale. But in fact Charles was still infatuated with his ex, Camilla Parker Bowles.

When asked by a TV reporter if the newly engaged couple were in love, Diana replied: “Yes, of course we are.”

When Charles cryptically replied: “Whatever ‘in love’ means”, the whole world cringed.

SHE was a life-long fan of dance, having taken ballet and tap lessons as a child, and aged 24, Diana got to show off her moves with none other than actor John Travolta at a White House dinner in November 1985.

That night she also danced with Clint Eastwood and Tom Selleck – we’re a little jealous, to say the least!

IN recent years, we’ve seen Kate and Wills posing outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London with their recent additions, but back in June 1982, it was Diana, Charles and baby William who were greeted by the paparazzi.

She may have looked calm and collected, but Diana later admitted that she had been in agony.

"When I left the hospital, I could barely put one foot in front of the other,” she said. “My stitches were killing me.”

IN a bid to surprise her husband in December 1985, Di took to the stage with renowned dancer Wayne Sleep to perform a routine to hit Uptown Girl at the Royal Opera House.

Recalling the moment, Wayne joked: “I said to Princess Diana: ‘This will never work, ma’am. You’re so much taller than me.’”

Prince Charles was said to be annoyed about the dance because it went against royal etiquette.
