Meghan Markle & Harry could pick £2,800-a-night Californian maternity suite for birth which Beyonce used, says pal

MEGHAN Markle may choose a swanky £2,800-a-night Californian maternity suite when she gives birth to her daughter, a pal has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may opt for the megabucks, A-list Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to Omid Scobie.

Meghan and Harry revealed they were expecting their second child on Valentine’s Day this year, and confirmed during their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview they are expecting a girl.

Their daughter will be granted American citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment if she is born on American soil.

She will become eighth in line to the throne, after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry and Archie.

Meghan previously gave birth to Archie, now two, at London's Portland Hospital in 2019.

The American-run Portland Hospital is known for its A-list patients, including Liz Hurley, Jools Oliver and the Duchess of York, with some VIP mums spending hundreds of thousands of pounds having their babies.

The Portland offers five-star hotel service for new mums, with 36 private rooms as well as a nursery.

The pricier suites cost £1,800 a night and feature a separate lounge area and en-suite bathroom.

It's also reported the exclusive hospital has a selection of rooms reserved for royalty and other VIPs that cost upwards of £2,000.

Then there's the 24-hour room service, luxurious Molton Brown toiletries and suites for family and visitors.

While the cheapest "birthing package" costs around £15,000, it's reported that some mums spend an eye-watering £500,000 - depending on the number of nights they stay and other services they require.

Meanwhile, Kate Middleton opted for the £7,500-a-night Lindo Wing ward for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

All of the care packages at the Lindo wing include:

  • Midwifery care throughout delivery and postnatal stay
  • Theatre fees
  • Routine midwife appointments and blood tests
  • Paediatrician fee for first baby
  • Nursery care
  • Postnatal physiotherapy
  • Routine medications and dressings
  • Meals and daily newspaper
  • Accommodation and breakfast for your partner, for each night of your postnatal stay

You will be expected to pay extra for:

  • Any antenatal care (excluding midwifery appointment)
  • Professional fees for obstetric services and anaesthetic services
  • Blood transfusions, diagnostic tests and injections not specified in the package
  • Non-routine take-home medication
  • Induction (if required)
  • Hearing check (unless NHS eligible)
  • Additional guest meals

Despite being born in the UK, Archie is likely to be eligible for dual nationality, although the family’s immigration status has not been made public.

Archie was taken to Canada by Meghan and Harry in November 2019, and the young tot has not seen his British relatives since he was six months old.

After stepping back as senior royals, the family now live in a £11million mansion in Montecito and have since signed multi-million pound deals with Netflix and Spotify.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan married three days before their wedding at Windsor Castle.

And Meghan said Archie wasn't made a prince after talks about his skin colour.
