How to transform each room of your home for under £20 with a few simple tips – and you don’t need any DIY skills

REDECORATING your home can be a pretty expensive task - but the good news is, it doesn't have to be.

Experts from regulated property buyers, GoodMove, have revealed some easy and super affordable ways to tackle every room in your house - and it'll set you back just £20 or less.

In addition to offering some budget tips, the experts scanned some bargain stores, including Asda, Ikea and Wilko where they found some pretty affordable items, which allowed them to come up with an estimated transformation cost.

From a lick of paint to plush cushions, here's how you can spruce up your home on a budget.

Bargain bedroom

Adding a fresh coat of paint to the walls will make a world of difference and will instantly make the space look and feel more luxurious.

The experts suggest going for a "statement shade" which is bound to make the biggest impact on a tiny budget - but don't underestimate the power of a duvet cover either.

For a super low budget option, spruce up your bed with a fresh new cover, and introducing a few scatter cushions can really elevate the space.

If you’re willing to put a little extra work in, why not try panelling your bedroom?

It doesn’t need to be a hugely expensive job though, as you can do it yourself for cheap using MDF.

Cool new kitchen

If you thought you had to spend money on a new kitchen fit out to achieve a brand new look, think again, because a new splashback might be all you need.

In fact, you can get the job done using stick-on tiles or sticky-back plastic, which will make it look like you have new and improved tiles.

While you can certainly do this do your whole kitchen, the experts recommend cutting costs by only doing the areas that need it most, such as behind your sink or the hob.  

And for something a little extra, why not paint your worktops instead of buying new ones which can be done for a fraction of the price.

Budget bathroom

You certainly don't have to re-tile the space to make an impact - and doing this will often set you back thousands.

But there are ways to change up the tiles you have if you don't like them anymore - and paint or stick-on tiles could do the trick.

What's more, you can also start by switching up your accessories by adding colourful towels, a statement bath mat or even a new laundry basket - all of which will change the way your space looks.

The experts recommend installing a few shelves too, and decorate them with frames, candles or faux plants which will add a stylish and practical element to your bathroom

If you really want to take things up a notch, the experts suggest introducing a patterned wallpaper which can really help bring a pop of colour and interest to the room.

Luxurious Living Room

While the experts admits that your sofa is the main focus of your room, it doesn't mean you have to buy a new one entirely.

You can completely change up the look of your sofa by adding new cushions and throws - or have a go at upholstering it yourself.

What's more, adding new curtains or blinds in your living room are also a great way of updating the space for a reasonable price.
