Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham on the love of her life & her greatest achievement
EMMERDALE star Rosie Bentham plays Gabby Thomas in the hit ITV soap.
The 19-year-old talks dinner parties, her bucket list and celebrity crush.
What scares you?
Losing people I love. I’m also scared of growing old and being lonely.
What’s your worst habit?
Staying up too late. I am not a morning person at all and I struggle to get up early for work. It’s because I’m normally on the phone too much, which is also a bad habit. I’m trying to stop, but lockdown hasn’t helped that!
Who or what is the love of your life?
The person I admire the most is my mum, Marianne. She is the strongest woman ever and I don’t know what I would do without her.
Who would you invite to a dinner party?
Obama and his dog, Emma Watson and Justin Bieber.
All-time favourite movie?
I love several – Captain Phillips, La La Land and A Star Is Born.
What was your favourite TV show as a child?
I used to be obsessed with Charlie And Lola.
What is your earliest memory?
Being in my household – it was always so loud! I’m the youngest of four and each of us would have several hobbies, so there was always someone going somewhere. It was just so hectic and, as the little one, a great place to be.
What possession would you rescue from a burning building?
My phone, of course. And my make-up bag, some comfy hoodies and joggers, as that’s what I am always wearing.
Which public figure do you most admire?
Malin Andersson from Love Island. She has changed her life and she is brilliant on body positivity. I follow her on social media and what she has to say is really inspiring.
What song would you have played at your funeral?
Anything by Ed Sheeran. I find his track Afterglow really catchy.
What’s the worst pain you’ve experienced?
I lost my dad, John, when I was 18 [he died of a pulmonary embolism in August 2019]. It was easily the worst pain I have ever experienced.
What is top of your bucket list?
To travel – anywhere!
What has been your greatest achievement?
To work in the industry like I am. It’s so hard to get into it and I know so many people who have tried to get to the same place. I feel really lucky.
What are your best and worst qualities?
I’m a huge overthinker. I analyse every situation and I worry about people’s judgements. My best is that I’m quite a good person to come and talk to. I try to understand people and give good advice.
What do you think happens when we die?
I go to church and I’m a true believer we go to heaven. This isn’t our only life.
