Mystery as ‘Mary Poppins silhouette’ spotted floating in sky baffles locals
SHE'S the no-nonsense nanny known for helping families with just a touch of magic - but could Mary Poppins be bringing a spoonful of sugar to GLASGOW?
Locals were baffled to spot a mysterious figure floating in the sky, that looks just like PL Travers' iconic character.
The strange object, pictured yesterday morning, bore a striking similarity to the opening scenes of Disney's 1964 film, in which Mary - played by Julie Andrews - floats through the skies above London, clutching her umbrella and carpet bag, before arriving at the home of the Banks family.
One local asked on social media: "Anybody else see this in the sky at Crookston this morning at 7.15? Can’t work it out."
After one person suggested it could have been the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious nanny with her umbrella, he jokingly replied: “Ye never know, possibly.”
Other residents were also desperate to solve the mystery.
One suggested it could be balloons, while another suggested aliens.
It's not the first sight to leave Brits stumped.

Due to the similar colouring of the sea and sky, the large vessel appears to be sitting amongst the clouds.
