From virtual bonks to ‘zorgies’ — our ultimate lockdown sex survey reveals all

LOCKDOWN is revolutionising how we have sex.

Separated lovers are resorting to everything from fantasising about the stars of Bridgerton and Love Island to using tech to become switched on . . . and turned on.

An exclusive Sun poll reveals that nearly a QUARTER of horny Brits are now bonking virtually, with almost 70 per cent of them using FaceTime and nearly 25 per cent on WhatsApp.

And a surprising 24 per cent of those stuck at home and trying sex-tech had attended an online adult party – with 41 per cent of them logging in once a week while more than 25 per cent said they get their digital thrills by partying TWICE every seven days.

Other lockdown sex trends include viewing more porn and, despite the icy weather, bonking outside.

More than a quarter of us have downloaded sex wellness apps, packed with tips and exercises.

But the pandemic has taken its toll.

Nearly a fifth said their sex life is worse this lockdown – and more than a quarter say they are having sex less than once per lockdown.

Here we size up our survey’s lockdown sex-life statistics . . .

Hi-tech keeps it hot

ROOFING firm boss Malachy Ross, 30, from Maldon, Essex, and care worker Dolly Letkey, 25, moved in together during the pandemic after two months of dating and have been trying to keep sex interesting.

Dolly says: "We’ve been experimenting with sex tech and kinks in lockdown to spice things up.

"We’re an adventurous couple and have sex every day. We use smart sex toys – ones with a remote control.

"Even on our daily walk we sometimes find we want to rush home to have sex.

"We’ve been really honest with each other about our fantasies and tried all sorts, from whips and tying each other up to sensual candlelit massages.

"There’s nothing else to do so why not?

"A lot of couples are breaking up in lockdown so it’s essential you keep your relationship fun."

'Zorgies' boost health

EMMA Sayle, founder of members-only sex party club Killing Kittens, says: “We always knew sex-tech would be huge.

"From shopping to dating, it was just a matter of time until sex lives went online too.

"It’s easy and instant – you can do it at a time and in a place that suits you, and you can make it entirely bespoke to meet your sexual kink.

“One week into the first lockdown, Killing Kittens organised the first online sex party, or ‘zorgy’ Zoom orgy.

"For us, it wasn’t just about meeting our members’ sexual needs – it was about meeting mental health needs, providing them with a support network.

"From there we’ve launched a social network and app, online workshops and access to the world’s best sex experts.

“It’s all about enabling our members to give themselves and their partners maximum pleasure.”

Parties filthy and fun

SINGLE Rachael Brown, 26, a chef from Manchester, has joined online sex parties during lockdown.

She says: "This lockdown I knew I had to do something brave if I wanted a bit of excitement.

"Friends were joining online sex parties but the thought terrified me.

"I thought it was going to be full of perverts as I’d never been to a sex party in real life.

"But it wasn’t at all.

"I downloaded the Killing Kittens app after being approved as a member and I wore a Venetian mask at first, but took it off after a few hours as I began to feel more comfortable.

"I bounced from different chat rooms and made lots of friends before I went to my first zorgy.

"On every screen something filthy was going on but it was sexy and surreal, and knowing we were all in this secret world added to the thrill.

Staying safe online

ASA Baav, founder of dating agency Tailor Matched, offers her tips for having safe sex online:

GET CONSENT: There should be consent in place for digital interactions, just as with real life. Set boundaries.

DON’T RUSH: Start slowly, with sexting, building up to bigger things like video sex, nude pics and online sex parties.

DON’T OVER-SHARE: In an era of revenge porn, keep your face out of nude pics or videos. To start, film yourself in the dark or record your voice as you self-pleasure.

CHECK THE VIBES: Before a full-blown online sex date, quick fully-clothed video calls and voice notes serve as a “vibe check”, so you can gauge chemistry in a context beyond text chat.

MAKE IT FUN: Keep it light-hearted, sexy and experimental – it might be the chance you’ve been looking for to introduce role-play into your sex life, so be open to the joys of sex-tech.
