NOW that Brits are spending more time indoors due to another lockdown, there’s never been a better time to crack on with some DIY. 

Making simple changes to your home can add thousands onto its value, which is ideal if you’re looking to move or even free up some equity.

If you’re unsure of where to start, we’ve rounded up six DIY and home renovation channels which should give you some inspiration and information. 

These UK-based channels share their best tips for redecoration on tight budget all the way to re-hanging doors, transforming bathrooms and kitchens. 

Plus we’ve included some tips from a property developer, who has a wealth of information on the technical side of housing, such as mortgages, on her page. 

So take a browse through these property gurus’ pages, then pick up a paintbrush.

This couple, from Bath, regularly share DIY and building tips on their YouTube, and Instagram page. 

The pair live with their two daughters, so as well as sharing house hacks they’re often uploading child-friendly projects too, such as making a mud kitchen. 

They said: “We are not professionals in any way, just keen to do as much of the work ourselves and as well as learning as we go, share our journey with you all through Youtube.”

Their channel has 132,000 followers, and includes clips on their bathroom renovation, fixing a roof, creating a fire pit and making a kitchen garden.

Just like the name suggests, this channel is dedicated to all things DIY, and is run by Vikkie. 

She has a wealth of experience and knowledge surrounding odd jobs around the house, such as hanging doors and changing locks.

And she also shares more challenging tasks, including fitting kitchen worktops and even installing news windows. 

On her channel, which was more than 56,000 subscribers, she says: “I'm Vikkie, a UK award winning DIY & Home Improvement blogger & YouTuber.  

“Featured on BBC One's Right on the Money, regularly on BBC radio stations about why I think we're increasingly living in a throw away society and hopefully inspiring ordinary people.”

In contrast Hermione regularly shares interior styling, upcycling and makeover ideas - often on a budget. 

Hermoine, who boasts more than 450,000 followers on YouTube, says: “I love making DIYS, crafts, clothes and room decor, and I'm always creating things on a budget!

“My channel is all about DIYS, life hacks, and things you need to know to get organised and create your dream space!”

She shares updates from her garden renovation, chair upholstery, thrift shop bargains and clever room makeovers. 

Plus she loves sharing tips on how to transform your home using bargain buys from Ikea, Poundland and other budget-friendly stores.

Leah is a young property developer, who’s bought at least four homes in the UK, which she aims to turn into “luxury Instagrammable home for young professionals”. 

She set up her channel documenting her property development business, and shares tonnes of information on how to navigate mortgages and answers house-hunters burning questions. 

Leah renovates her properties - including an eight bed house - and shares stunning before-and-afters, as well as in-depth videos of various kitchen and bathroom transformations. 

She said: “This channel is essential just my journey as a young property developer, you can find house renovation vlogs on all my deals and also property investment advice for beginners.

“As a Young Black Female Property Investor, it's really important for me to be able to give back to other people, hence why I'm happy to give property investment tips for beginners on this channel.”

Single mum Laura isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and get stuck in - showcasing her incredible DIY skills on her channel. 

The 32-year-old, from Manchester, shares tips on how to re-plaster walls, wrap cupboards in fablon, how to hide pipes and strip wallpaper. 

She also has a renovation, moving house, garden and makeover playlist if you wanted to quickly find some specific tips. 

Laura said: “I’m passionate about making homes look beautiful on a budget. 

“I love DIY and would like to inspire and give other people the confidence to try and do things for themselves.”

Mum-of-two Georgina describes herself as a ‘female DIY Youtuber’, who’s building her own extension onto her three-bed house just outside of London. 

She says she has a “focus on home improvements and technology, DIY and urban gardening”, regularly sharing DIY and home hacks. 

Her recent videos include how to remove rust from a radiator, choosing the best power tools, tips on flooring and drainage. 

And she regularly updates her followers on the progress of her extension, which she’s doing on a tight budget.

While this bloke revealed how he bought five houses in the UK by age 28.
