A MUM who manages to whip up three family meals a day for less than £20 a week has shared her healthy meal plan for people to copy.
The mum-of-one revealed she’s been able to feed her family for a month on just £72.84 a month - which works out to less than £20 a week.
While she only cooks for her partner and their baby, she makes four adult portions every night for lunch so her meal plan is perfect for a family with two kids.
She shared her shopping list and recipes to Facebook group , saying: “Have made a meal plan for a month for 2 adults and 1 baby for breakfast and lunch and 4 adult portions for dinner.
“Have worked it out to be £2.35 I hope this helps someone!
“I forgot a few ingredients! Would need to add cajun, butter and soy sauce making it on average £2.40 a day!
“Also it might not be some people's tastes and idm [I don't mind] at all! I usually just plan evening meals but about to be on a tight budget.
“We usually eat leftovers for lunch as the portions are for four but have to plan lunches in case!"
Some of the home-cooked meals she rustles up for breakfast include banana porridge, eggs on toast, sausage and egg and classic cereal.
Her family can expect chicken soup, an omelette, bacon sandwiches and fruit salad for lunch.
While her hearty dinners include tacos, pizza, pasta, cottage pie and bangers and mash.
The mum added: “Haven't repeated any dinners (I don't think haha).”
Her easy meal planner has gone down a storm online, with fellow parents thanking her for sharing her tips.
One mum said: “You've put so much thought into this! Thank you.”
Another wrote: “Well done, lots of good ideas there.”
A third said: “Great suggestions on that menu. Thank you for posting. Inspirational.”
Someone else raved: “Ah, thanks for sharing. This is a great piece of work- well done."
This parent wrote: “Aren’t you kind? Thank you so much! I’m going to print this!”
While this person added: “Nice work - a well put together meal plan!
“It’s deffo bound to be useful to some people, and a good nutritional content.. Thanks for posting.”
