Mum shares lunchbox she lovingly made for her son which was slammed by teachers – so can you spot what’s wrong with it?

A MUM is fuming after teachers lunchbox shamed her for packing rice crackers drizzled in chocolate for her son, as they banned him from eating the snack.

The mum, from Australia, raged that her son’s nursery workers were too ‘fussy’ when it came to food, and were constantly confiscating items which they deemed unhealthy.

The ‘miffed’ mum claimed that despite the school not having a specific lunch policy, staff constantly rejected what she packed.

She revealed that she’d made the rice cracker snack herself, pointing out it was a healthier dark, rather than milk, chocolate.

The frustrated parent revealed she’d been unable to get a meeting due to the pandemic, so she’d drafted an email instead.

She shared a snap of the lunch she made as she asked for advice over how to deal with his teachers.

They don’t have any specific policies around lunchbox inclusions only that we should ‘send a healthy lunch’

Mum

Taking to Facebook group , she asked:Has anyone ever been up against a kinder who are extremely fussy with what you can send in your child’s lunchbox?

“I’m now facing this and I’m not sure how to best approach it, we aren’t allowed any face to face time with educators right now so I can’t bring it up with them, I’ve written an email but am yet to send it

“They pick on the tiniest things. This fortnight it’s been that he’s not allowed to eat the rice cakes because they’re drizzled with chocolate (I made these myself, the choc is 70% dark choc, kinda think it’s besides the point though)

“Pic is how my son’s lunch usually looks, this week he took some rice he usually has a salad wrap in place of the rice.

“Pretty miffed at this point! They don’t have any specific policies around lunchbox inclusions only that we should ‘send a healthy lunch’.

“Not nut free either (they’re egg free due to my son.”

Hundreds of mums commented on the post, as some branded the nursery ‘outrageous’, while others pointed out chocolate was banned in their kids’ schools as well.

One mum said: “Chocolate is a no go at most places, which is understandable, just don’t send the chocolate.”

Another thought: “A big ‘mind your own business’ email is required.”

A third commented: “My primary school doesn't allow chocolate.”

Someone else commented: “This is outrageous- it’s actually good to give a treat in your kid’s box it teaches that there is ‘no good or bad food’.”

This parent reckoned: “Honestly I think they should make it themselves if they wanna nit pick so much. It’s beyond a joke.”

While another added: “Tell them to shove it, that's a great lunch and the 3 grams of chocolate on a cracker isn't going to change that.”

Meanwhile this mum was threatened with social services after showing what she feeds her 13-month-old daughter.
