Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop flogs £12 colouring book which pays homage to women’s genitalia
WACKY store Goop is selling a 64-image colouring book which is a homage to women’s private parts.
The shop – run by Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow – already knocks out £72 candles said to smell like a woman’s genitalia.
Now, customers can splash out £12 to colour them in – and they even get the pencils chucked in.
The Post-Structuralist Vulva Colouring Book shows women’s body parts superimposed on iconic images like Jaws, US presidential monument Mount Rushmore and the pyramid that features on the back of US $1 bills.
Goop says of the book: “This vulva-centric colouring book—filled with sixty-four tear-out sheets to shade in, share with others, and even frame when you’re finished—does an excellent job of demystifying female genitalia (something that’s all too shrouded in mystery, if you ask us).
“Throw in a pack of fancy coloured pencils and gift it to your most punk-rock feminist friend.”
One satisfied buyer said: “Hours of fun. maybe not quite for all the family, but seriously, who could pass by a book with a title like this and NOT treat themselves to it!”
And the publisher’s say: “Colour away the false binaries between male and female, words and text, inside and outside, art and nature.
“As you meditate on the sameness and difference of the vulvas on each page, you will grow to question your interpellation into dominant systems of knowledge.
“By overwhelming the senses with vulvas, you will interrogate the meaning and very existence of this social construct we call the ‘vulva’ and the instructions for living that come with it. No longer must vulvas be either crudely objectified or shrouded in mystery! All hail the vulva! The vulva hails you!”
