Mum uses Ikea bargains to split her sons’ bedroom in two – and gives it a stunning Mario makeover for cheap too
IF you have a Mario-obsessed kid and looking to give their bedroom a themed makeover, then look no further than this savvy mum's epic room transformation.
Yvette Carless revealed that her two sons share a bedroom and was looking to give them extra space, so came up with a genius way to create more storage without it looking cramped.
The crafty mum decided to build a bed frame out of MDF on top of a set of Ikea drawers.
This not only meant they could fit an extra set, but it allowed extra storage underneath the bed too - while giving them each their own space.
While the incredible room might look like it cost a fortune, Yvette revealed it was all done on a budget and that she used a lot of what she already had.
Posting in the Facebook group, she wrote: "2 of my boys share a bedroom so thought I'd do a Mario makeover for them on a budget and create more space.
"Had most of the things here already- IKEA draws and boxes etc.
"Paint and wood cost about £200, stickers £24 Ebay, an extra duvet cover to make the headboards £14, a few teddies and a lamp off Ebay and Amazon and I'm thrilled!! £300 well spent."
Her post blew up attracting over 5k 'likes and hundreds of comments from people who were seriously impressed the her efforts.
"That’s so good . Can you come and do my boys room please lol" one person joked.
And another said: "Wow, that is amazing. Really creative and makes the most of the space. Xxx"
A third added: "Amazing well done super creative."
While a fourth wrote: "Absolutely gorgeous! How inventive.x"
