KATE Middleton has long been recognised for her elegant and stylish fashion sense - often leaving royal watchers in awe of her outfit choices.

And in her latest appearance, The Duchess of Cambridge, 38, swapped her usual frock for a chic black blazer and matching trousers during a visit to the Natural History Museum.

In a short clip posted online by Kensington Palace, Kate beamed with excitement as she teased the announcement of the winner of this year's Wildlife Photographer of the Year award.

The Duchess, who is patron of the attraction, donned the all black outfit, pairing the smart blazer with a matching top and waist belt cinching in her waist.

Kate wore her brunette locks out in her usual style, as she spoke of the reopened museum - adding her usual touch of elegance with pearl drop earrings and a soft make-up palette.

In the clip, She said: "It is so wonderful to be back at the reopened Natural History Museum where we can all enjoy its treasures once again.

"I'm here because tomorrow night I'm announcing the fifty-sixth winner Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

"I've been lucky enough to have a quick preview and I can say it's truly spectacular - I can't wait for you all to see it."

Alongside the video on , Kensington Palace wrote: "As Patron of the Natural History Museum, The Duchess of Cambridge will announce the winner of this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year for the competition’s first virtual awards ceremony. Tune in on Tuesday to see this year's spectacular image!"

This isn't the first time The Duchess will join the Natural History Museum in honouring photographers at the annual awards ceremony, Mail Online reports.

In 2014 Kate awarded the Grand Title winners to celebrate the fiftieth year of the competition - with tomorrow night's event marking its fifty-sixth instalment.

The Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the world's longest running and most prestigious annual wildlife photography competition.
