Bloke reveals why you should never ask ‘what are you looking for’ while online dating and how it’s an instant turn off

MODERN dating can be tricky at the best of times, but apps such as Tinder has made it that much easier - with a simple swipe allowing you to pick a potential partner.

But according to Australian radio presenter Danny Lakey, there's one question women ask while online dating that'll have him running for the hills every time.

, the 30-something-year-old singleton explained that he often gets asked, "what are you looking for" while using Tinder, and admits he "never understands why you’d ask".

Danny listed five reasons why you should NEVER ask a bloke this question, and explains why it's an instant turn off.

1. Most blokes want everything and nothing

Danny explains that most guys are "single till otherwise smitten", so they don't necessarily look for a relationship until they've found one.

He says blokes are often open to finding "the one" but they're happy to have a few casual flings along the way - including some one night stands.

If blokes answered the question "honestly", Danny says that they'd probably say "I matched with you because I think you’re hot, I’d like to get to know you, have sex" and let the rest work itself out.

2. He could just lie

According to Danny, the question makes women look "vulnerable" and a lot of blokes could see it as a way to "get into her pants" .

He says blokes could easily lie and tell women what they want to hear, and these blokes are often the ones you want to avoid.

3. It comes across as needy

According to Danny, just like women meet "crazy guys", blokes meet "crazy chicks" too.

He says "we’re on the look out to avoid them at all costs" but this question is a pretty big red flag.

Painting the picture, he wrote: "Who is a guy more likely to text back? Someone who is having a bit of banter and a laugh? Or somebody who has already laid on the big question within the first five minutes before even meeting them?"

4. Trust yourself

The first rule of dating is to trust your instincts, and Danny says to "approach guys with a healthy amount of suspicion."

He explains: " You should be able to trust your gut and if you’re getting strong ‘playa’ vibes then you’re probably right.

"Save the discussion for a few weeks in and do it face-to-face when you can read their reaction."

5. There's a problem with the bloke

According to Danny, the only guys who are willing to have a relationship without even knowing the person are "the same weirdos with red flags".

He says if a bloke wasn't keen on a casual fling before jumping into a serious relationship then he's obviously a "stage-five clinger".

He wrote: "Ever met someone who won’t stop texting you after a 45-minute coffee date and already assumes you’re now dating? Yeah, these are the guys who are down for a relationship straight away."
