Mum shares the genius way she measures her kids’ feet so she doesn’t have to take them shoe shopping with her

ADMIT it, shopping is always easier when you don't have to drag the kids along. But what if you need to fit them for a new pair of shoes?

A savvy mum has come up with a genius solution to this exact scenario and revealed the clever way she measures her kids’ feet - making shopping trips a breeze.

Posting to a popular Australian parenting Facebook group, the mum-of-two revealed she uses cardboard cut-outs of their feet which she made by tracing the outline of their foot.

Alongside a snap of the cut-outs, she wrote: "When your kids have had a growth spurt and need new shoes but you don't want to take them into the shops just yet."

The clever tactic is ideal when buying new shoes for kids as it not only measures the length of the foot but the width too - and they fit perfectly in your handbag.

The post has attracted almost 3k Facebook likes from other parents who love the "brilliant" idea with many vowing they'll give it a go themselves.

But it seems many have already tried the cleaver method, agreeing it makes shopping trips easier.

"Not alone there. I always do it as I can't be [bothered] taking my six kids to get new shoes as they'll want other things too," one woman said.

And another added: "I did this when I had to buy shoes for three boys who weren't easy to take shopping!"

While a third said: "My mum used to do this to us using Manila folders, I thought she was nuts!"

Some people even suggested using paper instead of cardboard so you can fold it up and put it in your pocket.
