12-year-old lad saves his mum hundreds by making garden furniture out of pallets & it didn’t cost a penny
A MUM has praised her 12-year-old son after he made some garden furniture out of pallets - and it didn’t cost a penny.
Netti Slawson was chuffed to bits when her son, Keegan, whipped up two pieces of patio furniture, which can cost triple figures from a store.
Keegan made a bench and lounge chair out of an old cable reel and some wood, which was supplied by VOW land Plasmadoc, which are a local playscheme who go ‘above and beyond for children in the local area’, Netti said.
The finished result is some brand new additions for the garden on the cheap, just in time for summer.
Netti shared Keegan’s work on Facebook group , where the post has racked up more than 11,000 likes.
She said: “My 12 year old son wanted to make some garden furniture.
“He’s made a bench and a lounge chair with an old pallet and an old cable reel!
“He’s built them and sanded them and painted them and it Didn’t cost a penny!”
More than a thousand people commented on the post, claiming their kids’ can barely make their own beds.
One mum said: “Where is every one getting these amazingly talented kids and husbands from.. I'm clearly ordering from the wrong place.”
Another wrote: “Wow... that’s fab!! My 12 yr old can’t even make himself a drink.”
A third commented: “Brilliant young man. My son won’t even make his bed.”
Someone else raved: “He will go a long way!! Fabulous job. Never be out of work when he can work on the tools. Good lad and only 12!!!”
While this person added: “Clever and talented young man. Most grownups couldn't do that. Well done to him.”
