SHOPPERS have bought nearly 800,000 pairs of false eyelashes from Primark after the store re-opened earlier this month.
The department store was forced to close temporarily in March due to coronavirus, but threw open its doors last month.
Millions of happy customers flocked back to the popular shop, and the store revealed what has been at the top of peoples’ shopping list - false eyelashes.
Primark told Fabulous: “Since re-opening, we have sold almost 800k sets of False Lashes.”
The beauty staple has never been more important after salons closed, and Primark fans have been snapping them up in their thousands.
Primark sells a range of falsies, ranging from £1 for individual lashes, to £2 for Mulan-style falsies, £3 for their Girls With Attitude range, all the way up to £5 for an exclusive collection.
The store said: “We’re all a-flutter over our eye-opening collection of false eyelashes.
“We’re not saying there’s anything wrong with a swipe of good mascara, but some days nothing other than full-on GLAM will do.
“Are you an in-your-face voluptuous volume type? Or do you go for a more subtle lash look?
“Whatever your vibes are, there are false eyelashes for all tastes at Primark – and every pair is sure to amp up your eyes in an instant.”
Fans have been proudly sharing their haul of falsies online, with one shopper saying: “Who else loves little bits shopping in primark???
“The shelves was almost empty but I got some "Little bits", them daisy lashes look.”
Someone else wrote: “Love the beautiful lashes.”
While this make-up lover added: “Me too. Can’t wait to try them.”
Other popular items included womens’ flip flops, and sustainable cotton PJs.
Primark added: “Women’s clothing has performed above average in all regions.
“As the weather has improved we have seen strong demand for T-shirts, shorts, dresses, sandals and sunglasses.”
