Mum transforms her ‘grotty’ stairs using paint & £18 vinyl stickers from Dunelm & people can’t believe the difference

A SAVVY mum finally decided to revamp her ‘grotty’ stairs using a lick of paint and some Moroccan-inspired vinyl stickers.

Tracey Emma gave herself a lockdown project, splashing out £18 on some trendy tile stickers from Dunelm, and a tub of paint in a chic grey shade which costs £10 at B&Q.

The mum had previously used the tile stickers in her bathroom, and was so impressed with them she bought a set for her stairs - in a different pattern.

She cut the stickers, called the Catalan Self Adhesive Backsplash Tiles, in half to fit her steps perfectly.

After a lick of paint her staircase looks virtually unrecognisable.

Sharing her makeover to Facebook group , Tracey said: “Thanks to the inspiration on here I finally transformed our grotty stairs!

“You get 4 sets of tiles in each pack but I cut in half to fit on the stairs.

“The brand of tiles are also in Homebase but are different patterns. The paint is called Slate Satin Grey.”

And for anyone worried about noise, Tracey added: “They are surprisingly quiet! Even with my stompy kids.”
