How to make an easy strawberry daiquiri cocktail at home during the heatwave

WITH Britain experiencing the hottest days of the year so far - now could be the perfect time to whip up an ice-cold cocktail. 

And to help you along your way, we’ve found a very easy recipe for a strawberry daiquiri cocktail that could be perfect for keeping you cool.

What do you need to make a strawberry daiquiri cocktail?

All you will need to make two strawberry-flavoured boozy drinks: 

  • 500g strawberries
  • 200g ice
  • 10ml rum 
  • Half a lime squeezed

Note that the strawberries will need to be hulled (the green leafy top removed) before use. 

You should also have a few things to hand for the garnish if you wish to make it look photo-worthy. 

This can include one strawberry halved, two slices of limes and cocktail sticks.

How to make a strawberry daiquiri cocktail

  1. Firstly you need to blend the strawberries and then push the puree through a sieve to remove any seeds. 
  2. Then tip the filtered puree into the blender and add the ice, rum and lime juice. 
  3. Blend the mixture and divide between two Martini glasses. 

To decorate, add the lime slices and strawberry halves onto the cocktail sticks, and artfully place on the edge of the glass. 

Voila, your sweet cocktails will be ready to serve.
