Kate Middleton was busy at work supporting new & pregnant mums as her & William celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary

KATE Middleton was busy working to support new mums as she and Prince William celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tied the knot on April 29 2011, but rather than taking the day off for a romantic celebration yesterday, the mum-of-three was hard at work.

Kate, 38, spent the afternoon participating in a round-table discussion via a video link, chatting with charities and organisations who support new mothers and pregnant women, according to the Court Circular.

Kate is thought to be passionate about parenting, previously opening up about being a mother on Giovanna Fletcher's podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby, in February.

Kate and Prince William, 37, have been using video calls to chat and show their support for the country during the lockdown.

The pair shared clips on their Instagram page, , showing them chatting about mental health and with schools.

But the pair also used their Instagram account to thank well wishers who congratulated them on reaching the nine-year milestone.

They shared a snap from their wedding day, captioned: “Nine years ago today – thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!”

The post racked up more than 1.4 million likes, with fellow family members, including Princess Eugenie and Kate’s brother, James Middleton, liking and commenting on the post.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent their anniversary at their home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall, where they’ve been self-isolating with their three children, Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, two.

The pair tied the knot in front of millions at Westminster Abbey, before sharing the traditional kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

They later held a private reception for their friends and family, and Kate changed into her second wedding dress.

While the pair have been married for nine years - with the traditional gift being pottery - the pair have been dating since 2003, after meeting at St Andrew’s University.
